My name is Mark and I am the founder of Mogz & Dogz. I provide pet services in the following areas
Coventry, Balsall Common, Burton Green, Kenilworth, Meriden, Knowle, Hockley Heath, and Dorridge areas.
Experience in the Police
I previously have served as a police officer for nearly 24 years. I have enjoyed working in a public facing environment and have been privileged to have had a very varied career. My highlight was without doubt my service as a Police Dog Handler. I experienced all types of dogs and their unique personalities.
I handled a Golden Labrador passive drugs dog and worked nationwide achieving praise, recommendations and even a Police Commendation for our work. I also handled a German shepherd dog, again attaining another commendation for our services. I have worked with some of the finest dogs not only locally but nationally.
I now seek to pass this experience on to you the customer. Whether it be Dog Walking, our Home Boarding Service or a particular training issue, you can be assured of our knowledge and competence
Dealing with Aggressive Animals
My experience has enabled me to deal with, at one end of the spectrum the family pet, where I have been able to give advice and training tips, all the way through to the other extreme of dangerous and wild dogs which have put the public in danger.
Aggression in animals is always concerning for an owner, especially if directed towards a friend or a family member. I always recommend my clients get their pets checked by a vet particularly if the aggression has come on suddenly. The cause can be medical (yes, animals can get toothache too!). Sometimes the aggression can be protective towards its “master” and even be directed towards other family members.
It is common for pets to display what is known as a “Conditioned Response”. Put simply they react purely because it is what they are used to doing under a particular set of circumstances. Does your dog get all excited when you pick up his lead ? This is just one simple example of a conditioned response
