Dog training in Coventry, Warwick, Leamington and Warwickshire
Does your dog struggle with basic commands? Or perhaps your dog acts aggressively towards other dogs or people? Well at Mogz & Dogz, we can help turn your unruly dog into a well behaved family pet with our dog training service. With his background as a Police dog handler, Mark has the skills and experience to help with any behavioural or obedience problems you are having. Mark firmly believes the best results are achieved when an owner understands its also themselves that need training and not just the dog!
There are two main types of dog training which are behavioural and obedience training. Obedience training is all about teaching your dog to respond in a positive manner to your voice. Behavioural training covers common behavioural problems such as aggression, destruction, separation anxiety and other issues.
Behavioural dog training
There are many reasons why your dog may have behavioural issues but don’t worry, at Mogz & Dogz we can help. Some common problems that we encounter include: aggressive behaviour, destructive behaviour, separation anxiety, excessive barking, jumping up and house toileting problems. The good news is that most behavioural issues are relatively easy to fix with the right training and that’s exactly what we’ll provide.
With a background as a Police dog handler, Mark has worked with all types of dogs during his career and is an expert in dog behavioural and dog obedience training. One of the most powerful tools for correcting dog behavioural problems is the human voice and knowing what to say and perhaps more importantly when to say it. Mark will teach you how to read your dog and the use of positive reinforcement to help resolve behavioural problems.
Obedience dog training
Whether you have a new puppy, a rescue dog or have taken over ownership of a dog, one of the first things you’ll need to do is obedience training. Simply put, obedience training is the process of teaching your dog to respond to simple voice commands such as: sit, stay, down, heel, leave it and come. Owners often think that disobedience means that their dog is naughty, however most obedience problems are caused by the dog not understanding their owner.
With my obedience dog training service, I will be training your dog, but perhaps more importantly I will be training you. Successful dog training is all about controlling your tone of voice and using gestures to develop the meaning of your commands. The correct use of your voice is the most important element of obedience training and not allowing frustration to show in your voice. Consistency and patience are key skills needed in dog training as is the use of body language as well the application of some simple techniques you will be shown.
